Liverpool Chamber of Commerce

New wellbeing foundation partners with the Chamber to support 18 charities across the North West.

Liverpool Chamber are delighted to announce that they have become corporate ambassadors of North West Charity Events (NWCE), a charitable foundation that will provide grant support to help charities make a positive impact on health and wellbeing in the North West region.

The foundation is on a mission to bring people together to understand the most important issues and opportunities affecting communities in the North West, and to focus collective efforts to make the biggest impact and influence a positive change in quality of life.

The foundation’s focus for 2022 is mental health and wellbeing, and fundraising will start with NWCE’s first ever golf day and black-tie evening event, titled “18 for 18”, to raise funds for 18 charities across the North West. “18 for 18” features a day of golf followed by an evening of celebration with further opportunity to raise money for charities that match NWCE’s 2022 focus on resilience in mental health and wellbeing.

Liverpool Chamber have worked alongside NWCE to identify member charities who share its overall mission, with the Chamber’s own partner charities Everton in the Community and Clatterbridge Cancer Charity amongst those supported by “18 for 18”.

James Smethurst, founder of NWCE said “We established NWCE to help charities make a positive impact on health and wellbeing in the North West. This year’s launch event on 6th May at Heswall Golf Club and Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa is set to be a fantastic day, and an opportunity to make a huge impact on the charities we are supporting.

“We are absolutely delighted to have Liverpool Chamber as corporate ambassadors, their support for our foundation has already been incredible and we look forward working with them as we deliver our annual events.”

Paul Cherpeau, chief executive of Liverpool Chamber said: “Liverpool Chamber are pleased to be able to support NWCE as corporate ambassadors, and would encourage as many of our members as possible to get involved with this wonderful initiative.

“We have enjoyed working with the team to identify partner charities who share the ethos of NWCE, and are will look forward to seeing significant sums raised for our member charities, starting with the “18 for 18 event in May.”
